Stay Connected with Accessible Contact Information

December 9, 2009 - If the main point of your website is to get visitors to contact you about your services, it's important to place special emphasis on your contact information and make connections as easy as possible.

You might be surprised at how many websites we've seen where the contact information for the company is buried, limited, or almost non-existent. If you want potential customers to contact you, you need to make that information stand out loud and clear.

1. Contact Us Page - Every single should have a clearly labeled and visible tab on their home page that leads to a contact us page with information. This should not lead solely to an online form, but actual information that details the phone number, email address, and physical location of your office(s). You can even include a small map or a few general directions as well. Not everyone wants to send an email, some people would rather call and speak to a person. Don't limit your leads by excluding this audience.

2. Post Contact Information on Your Home Page -  Even if you have a great Contact Us web page, you should still always prominently display your office's phone number and an email link directly on your home page.

3. Include Links and Phone Numbers in Your Web Content - Every piece of web content you publish on your website (or externally) should have a call to action that includes your phone numbers and links to your contact page and/or email. If your visitor likes what they have read, they may want to contact you right away. Why make them navigate through your website instead of publishing that information right in front of them?

Connecting with your readers means allowing them the opportunity to directly contact you. Keeping your contact information widely accessible means never missing an opportunity to allow those customers to get in touch with you right away.

What Your Website Says About Your Customer Service

November 13, 2009 - Even if you only have a minimal understanding of how the Internet works, search engine marketing, web design, or online marketing, you need to firmly understand that your website 100% represents your company's online presence and that any and all content and design you incorporate represents YOUR VOICE and BRAND.

This is a very good argument for making sure you stand by your web design and content 110%, but you also need to understand how these factors affect your customer service in addition to your law firm's overall presentation. When potential clients visit your website, they are not greeted with a person who can smile at them and answer their questions. They are only greeted with the content you have provided; so when you host a website with your name on it without enough information, you are negatively affecting your attorney-client relationship.

Your web visitor's overall experience should be the absolute driving force for any change you make to your website. Before you add, redesign, post content, etc. ask yourself:

1) How does this improve my visitor's web experience?
2) Is this design easy to use, does it promote functionality and clear-cut navigation?
3) Is this content my clients/potential clients are interested in learning more about?
4) Does my website provide enough information about my law firm, services, expertise, practice areas?
5) Does my website answer the most common questions my clients have about my practice/services/etc.?

SEO Content Tips for Lawyers: Vary Your Content

October 10, 2009 - Creating a successful web content strategy for your legal website means deciding on, and writing a wide variety of SEO content.

Web content is a blanket term for any content that appears on your website. This includes everything from the text on your home page to the articles in your library, your frequently asked questions, blogs, landing pages...the whole shebang. In order to achieve a thriving and engaging website, you need to understand the various types of web content, and decide how you are going to address them.

Certain topics for example, will naturally lend themselves to different forms. Perhaps some subjects include a lot of detail, processes, and information and would be best suited as a series of articles. Other topics may be rather short (a current news story, a small tangent on a larger subject, etc.) and would make great blog posts. Other topics may not really fit either category and can find themselves written into a frequently asked question, a definition on a glossary or resource page, or incorporated into a landing page. All of the web content you provide on your website should keep these various contexts in mind while taking into account user interest, length, and visual appeal.

The great part about hosting your own website is the ability to create a space that addresses the individual needs and desires of your online visitors. By creating a variety of content you can create the perfect forum and structure for each topic, ensuring more people are reading and responding to your website overall.

SEO Tips for Lawyers: Internal Links

October 8, 2009 - There are a lot of benefits of having a library full of SEO content on your website, especially if you have a blog. That's because in addition to driving traffic to your website and providing great information for your visitors, you can use your existing content to keep readers on your website longer. The longer you can keep a visitor on your website, the greater chance you have of converting that customer because they are interested in and trusting the information you are providing them.

Let's say as an example you write a blog about a current car accident in your area. Now, if that car accident talks about head injuries you can send them to a medical website, if you use a legal term like "contingency fee" you can add a link to an online dictionary, and if you mention filing a personal injury claim you can link it to a website discussing state statutes.

Or, you can direct that same client to a separate page of injury descriptions on your website that feature several articles about head injuries, their causes, treatments, rehabilitation options and local resources. You can then link them to a glossary page on your website that briefly defines legal terms, and yet another page hosted on your website that goes into detail about how to begin filing a personal injury claim for car accident victims in your state.

See the difference? When you have great SEO content on your website, it works for you in more ways then one and becomes useful time and again for new and potential clients, as well as internal linking opportunities for a variety of other blogs and articles that are related.

SEO Content: Quality Over Quantity

November 13, 2009 - When it comes to SEO content, of course you want hundreds of articles and blogs on your website, all of which are infused with your keywords and working like little marketing machines to help drive your web traffic through search engine results. The problem that often comes up though, is that in the quest for more and more SEO content, when does quality get sacrificed for quantity?

In an attempt to constantly produce and publish SEO content to satisfy search engines, website owners often forget about the end user -- the person that is actually supposed to enjoy and learn something from that content . This is an incredibly dangerous oversight because if the person performing the search clicks on your website to find a subpar, shoddily written article that in no way engages or informs them about said topic, they aren't going to keep clicking through your website, they are going to leave in a hurry.

Remember, the average Internet user spends 4 seconds scanning a web page to determine if they want to read it. You have 4 seconds to grab that reader's attention or they are gone. Hastily publishing poorly edited articles with only a search engine in mind will in no way enhance your user's experience or your conversion rates.

Quantity is great, but not at the expense of quality. All of the web content that you publish on your website represents YOU. Poor quality will not only make you seem unprofessional, but will quickly send away any audience you may have gained through your SEO efforts. It's like selling thousands of tickets to an Aerosmith concert, but when the excited crowd gets to the venue, they find only a dive-bar cover band that doesn't even know all the lyrics to Dude Looks Like a Lady. Would you stick around for that?

I think not.

Having search engine optimized copy makes it easy for search engines to find your Web pages. If your website doesn't have a first page search engine ranking on Google, We Do Web Content can help boost your web marketing goals. We Do Web Content takes pride in producing high-quality and affordable SEO web copy that is clean, consistent, and formatted for Internet marketing. We get excited when your website's search engine ranking climbs and YOU ARE FOUND. Get started today - 1-888-521-3880.

Content Plus SEO Equals Customer Satisfaction

Content and SEO Are Equally Important for High Ranking Search Results

When it comes to maintaining a successful website there are basically two major rules: get customers to your website and get those customers to make a purchase.

A recently published article on Mediapost.com discussed a Webinar on SEO (searach engine optimization) and conversion rates that spoke to the importance of balancing SEO strategies with quality web content to not only drive traffic, but complete the sale.

With all the press in recent years about the importance of optimizing websites, Google rankings, and keywords, many companies began investing in search engine optimization, but neglected to boost their web content along with it.

The Result

Lots of increased traffic but lower sales figures.

The Reason

Online consumers are looking for clear, easy to read content and a user-friendly website that's easy to navigate. You can have all the traffic on the internet on your website but if the page is lacking quality content, your sales will reflect it.

"A site that ranks well in search engines but can't convert customers from browsers to buyers is just as bad as a site that provides a great user experience but search engines cannot index it", said Herndon Hasty, senior SEO evangelist for Range and presenter in Webinar.

Think of it like two sides of the same coin, one is basically useless without the other.

How Can Online Slideshows Improve My Content?

Let's face it; sometimes it takes more than text alone to create an impact on your website.

Even if you wouldn't classify your business as a "tech company", your potential customers are looking for creative ways to interact with you online.

Utilizing images, video, and audio components not only adds interest, but actively engages your visitors, and slideshows can easily incorporate all of these functions.

With online slideshows you can:
  • Give a face and voice to your company
  • Introduce and/or demonstrate a new product
  • Give tours of your brick and mortar locations or corporate headquarters
  • Provide visitors with photos and updates from your last trade show or conference
  • The list goes on

Online slideshows are fairly easy to use and can even be imbedded into a blog, social media profile, or in many cases loaded into website like Youtube. They can be used to illustrate existing content or appear on their own. Basically, your slideshow is only limited by your creativity or the resources you have to put them together.

When developing an online marketing strategy it is important that you select a company that has Internet marketing experience, which includes copywriting, SEO services, and website promotion. We Do Web Content specializes in affordable SEO writing that will get your website a top search engine ranking. We combine organic SEO tools with web marketing know-how to increase the search engine placement and SEO ranking of your Web pages. Get started now by taking advantage of our FREE consultation.

Twitter Evolves - Will Fans Pay for Tweets?

Third-party developer, 83 Degrees, is launching a new application that will let Twitter users pay for and get paid for their content. It's called Super Chirp.

While the creators of Super Chirp don't think the average Twitter user will start charging their friends for content -- celebrities, charities, and other businesses could very well profit from the service that charges users a monthly fee ranging from $1-$10 for a "premium stream" of content. The business setting up the Super Chirp account determines the monthly charge.

Companies who sign up for Super Chirp will retain an impressive 70% of the monthly fee, the rest goes to 83 Degrees and covers the Pay Pal fees used to purchase the tweet streams. Super Chirp also has the advantage of working through existing Twitter accounts since the premium content is sent to subscribers through direct messages.

Do you think your loyal customers would pay a $1 each month for exclusive tips and other must-have web content? If so, Super Chirp could be a great application to try out for your company.

Find out more by reading the entire story on Tech Crunch.

Contact We Do Web Content today and find out more about how social media networking and online marketing can benefit your company!
