The symptoms of this disorder include vocal cord spasms and tremors that can affect speech. The Bastian Voice Institute has treated 500 patients with regular botox injections directly into their vocal cords, which serves to temporarily reduce the effects of this vocal disorder.

However, the Chicago Tribune notes that the FDA has not approved Botox injections for this purpose. That's largely because the manufacturer is not interested in conducting clinical trials for such a rare condition.
