Fun Friday: Fish Name Voting!

January 21, 2011 - It's the moment we've all been waiting for! It's time to Name That Fish!

...almost.

We decided it wasn't quite fair to just pick a name amongst us, since most of the submissions were from close friends and family. So to make things fair, all 7 of us picked our favorite name and we're letting our Facebook fans decide!

The final list of names included:

Mordecai Ale Van Allen O'Shea, Winston, Weber, Wedo, Doc, Dewey, WEBster, Inky, Sushi, Oscar, Sue-she, Sparkles, QWERTY, Webcon, Browser, Search, Sinatra, Levi, Wanda, Rocky Balbeta, Sir Rulean, Blue, Meme, Chewbacca "Chewie", Phisher, and Phish.

We also got quite a few acronyms which, while creative, weren't really good as actual names: 

• LTBA - Lucky To Be Alive
• WDWC - Wonderfully Delightful Water Creature
• BETA - Better Eaten Then Alive
• SEO - Seagoing Effervescent Organism

 After consideration we narrowed it down to 5, as some of us picked the same favorite. The 5 finalists are: 

• Browser
• Rocky Balbeta
• Content
• Search
• Webster

Wacky Law - Kitten is Summoned for Jury Duty

Sal Esposito is one of the latest Americans to be called to jury duty - but he won't be answering any of the attorney's questions, unless they speak cat. Sal was listed on his owners' latest U.S. Census form as "pet" and somehow got added to the jury duty pool.

His owners say he'd make a horrible juror. He'd take frequent naps, ignore everything and everyone, suddenly jump into the proceedings, and may even pose an allergy risk to other jurors. Not to mention the court bathrooms probably aren't litter box equipped (where's the ADA when you need it???).

Sal's cat-mom, Anna, said she's contacted the court to ask for his disqualification but the request was denied - so she'll show up, cat carrier in hand, if the matter isn't resolved by his March 23 date.
