Maintaining the Proper Footwork When Ballroom Dancing

• Allow your leg to swing freely from the joint, with the motion originating from the hip, when stepping
  
• Take definite steps without dragging your feet
  
• Take shorter steps if dancing to faster ballroom music and longer steps when dancing to a slow song
  
• Keep your feet close together when changing directions in order to better maintain your balance
