Miley Cyrus Set to Break Free of Hannah Montana

Teen singing sensation Miley Cyrus is best known for her popular character Hannah Montana, but lately she has been trying to achieve success under her own name.

In fact, though Cyrus's famed TV show on the Disney Channel has over 4 million viewers per episode according to Save Disney Shows News, the 4th season of Hannah Montana to be shown in 2010 will be the last.

Reality TV World reports that Cyrus wanted the third season to end the series, but that she wanted to give the show a proper ending, which the final Hannah Montana episodes are claiming to provide.

Miley Cyrus has released several albums and movies of her own alongside her Hannah Montana songs, movies, and show, but the end of the series will provide her with more time to focus on her own career without the help of a fictional character.

According to IMDB, Miley Cyrus worked on the following projects and Hannah Montana at the same time:

• She provided the voice of Penny in the animated film Bolt
• Cyrus played the same character in the short Super Rhino
• Album Breakout was released under her own name in July 2008 and debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart with first week sales of over 370,000 copies.

Future projects will also involve Cyrus as herself, perhaps to the dismay of Hannah Montana fans. Her upcoming movie, The Last Song, will focus on Cyrus's character reconnecting with her estranged father and having her heart broken by a boy she meets during that time.
