The study includes data from 4 surveys that targeted active Internet users, resulting in 22,729 respondents across 38 countries from November 2008 through March 2009. Basically, these numbers represent the best data available for seeing the impact of social networking and social media.

Here are a few highlights:

• 2/3 of Internet users have managed an online profile, 71% have visited a friend's social network page

• 60% of US Internet users manage a social network profile
• 83% of active Internet users watch online videos
