Given many of the headlines lately, it isn't hard to think about the possibility of a cruise ship being hijacked while at sea. Is it common? Are there specific areas that might be more prone to attack? Do I want to forgo my vacation because of this possibility?
One of the most notable cruise ship hijackings was the majestic cruise ship Achille. Hijacked in 1985, an American tourist, Leon Klinghoffer was killed by the hijackers and thrown overboard with his wheelchair. The cruise ship was eventually put back in service but caught fire off the coast of Somalia in 1994 and sank.
A boating accident can ruin and completely change you or your child's life. If you or someone you know has been injured at sea or on a cruise ship contact an attorney to learn about your rights and determine liability.
