Google Launching New Format for Universal Images

By  |  Published

December 2, 2009 – Google is set to launch a new format for their universal image results. According to the Official Google Blog, the rollout will take place over the next 24 hours and will display one larger image with several smaller thumbnail images beside it.

This new change will allow Google to display more images on the page and hopefully increase the value of the  searches for users. To be clear, the universal image results refer to the images that appear alongside the web based search engine results (along with videos, news results, etc.) when performing a search on Google, and not the display page where users perform a search on Google Image.
