HowStuffWorks.com is introducing a new advertising campaign, featuring a teenage athlete who has spina bifida and is known for his daring wheelchair maneuvers. Aaron “Wheelz” Fotheringham will appear in many of the ads which will be seen on the Web and on the Discovery Channel.

HowStuffWorks.com is a website that was founded in late ‘90s
by a professor as a hobby. The site uses animation, graphics, and photos to answer common questions about complex things work. Marshall Brain developed the site and then sold it in 2002 to a company headed by the founder of WebMD. Discovery Communications bought the site in 2007 for $250 million and based a program on the Discovery Channel around the same concept.
