Sprint is capitalizing on the popularity of social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook by introducing products with features that appeal to fans of the sites. Sprint is promoting two phones to compete with the iPhone, Blackberry, and Palm Pre which offer easy access to social networking spaces.

The Samsung Exclaim and HTC Snap were designed to attract customers who frequently log on to Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, MySpace, etc. The phones come with pre-loaded features that provide “one click” connectability, email prioritization and one-touch messaging.

Sprint is also building onto their online marketing strategies with Twitter accounts, Facebook fan pages, and Flickr sites. According to an article by MediaPost, Sprint’s manager of communications, Rich Pesce, believes that social networking sites offer “a lot of growth.” Pesce said, “[A social networking presence] has become tremendously important.”
