The Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry

Perhaps the most successful element in J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter fantasies is the setting of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Harry’s elite boarding school is a place that every reader wishes they could attend as it is both fun and full of scholarly enchantment. Along with sports (such as the whimsical take on soccer, Quidditch) and camaraderie, Hogwarts provides rigorous training in the magical arts for would-be sorcerers.

The characters found at Hogwarts are diverse; from Harry Potter’s wise mentor, the master wizard Albus Dumbledore, to his nemesis Professor Snape, the school is home to as much dynamic tension as it is fun.

These two key J. K. Rowling characters (Harry’s nemesis and his mentor)  are pivotal to the plot of the new Harry Potter movie, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. In this latest installment of the popular movie series, viewers can study potions and spells (and revel in some playful camaraderie) along with Harry Potter.
