Twitter and Flickr Officially Team Up

Twitter, the popular micro-blogging social media site, and Flickr, the Yahoo-owned photo sharing service, have integrated to create a new service that will allow Twitter users with a Flickr account to easily upload their pics to Twitter through a feature called Flickr2Twitter.

According to TechCrunch, Twitter had already begun allowing users to link to photos in their Flickr accounts for email uploads, which created a tweet with a short link: http://flic.kr that linked to the photo. The new feature takes this process a step further and allows users to tweet any photo they are currently hosting on Flickr directly from the Flickr site.

Further plans including developing Flickr as a photo option for desktop and mobile users using Flickr’s existing APIs, adding Twitter as a publishing option on pull-down menus.
